I have been looking around for nice spots to take sunrise/ sunset for sometime until the night before this shooting, I find this location is quite interesting for sunrise shooting. Although I was staying in Penang for more than 20yrs, I never heard of this beach. So, I woke up 5.30 in the morning and get ready for this shooting. I arrived shamrock beach at around 6.30 in the morning with the help of GPS. What a shame that a Penangite needs GPS to go somewhere in Penang. Anyway, I managed to find this place pretty easily because it is just located at road side with a big sign of "PANTAI SHAMROCK". There was a van parked there and started to set up for business. After I parked my car right there, I went down to the beach straightaway and scout for place to do shooting. It was still very dark so I need to use torch light to walk around the beach and look for interesting angle for shooting. After sometime, I found that Shamrock beach was actually connected to another beach which is hidden at the end of Shamrock beach, that is much interesting place to do shooting. There was an old long walkway connected to the balcony of a bungalow right there with stingy rock staircase. Anyway, I climbed up the stair case to reach the walk way because I wanted to use it as my interesting foreground in my landscape photo. High rise buildings were also queueing along the beach to form an interesting landscape composition.
I would like to share the photos I have taken along the shooting session here so that more people will know this nice place for shooting sunrise!! Enjoy it.
